If you want to configure email in Apple Mail, you can get it done in a couple of steps. Please note, this is the apple desktop version of Apple Mail and not iPhone/iPad Mail
1. Open Mail (click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder).
2. If the “Welcome to Mail” assistant does not appear, choose Add Account from the File menu.
3. Enter your email account information.
> Full Name: Your name as you would like it to appear.
> Email Address: Your full email address.
> Password : The password you assigned to the email address.
4. Mail will attempt to contact the mail server. The default search uses “autodiscover.example.com”, unless you have this subdomain already created and an SSL Certificate installed, this will fail. Click the Connect button to complete a manual set up.
5. Enter your incoming mail server information.
> Account Type: From the menu, we recommend IMAP.
> Description: Enter a short description.
> Incoming Mail Server: Your email access domain (mail.domainname - in our example, our domain name is wannadomain.co.uk therefore we would enter mail.wannadomain.co.uk)
> User Name: Your full email address.
> Password: The password you assigned to the email address.
Click the Continue button when you’re ready.
6. Enter your outgoing mail server information.
> Description: Enter a short description.
> Outgoing Mail Server: Your email access domain (mail.domainname - in our example, our domain name is wannadomain.co.uk therefore we would enter mail.wannadomain.co.uk)
> User Name: Your full email address.
> Password: The password you assigned to the email address.
Click the Continue button when you’re ready.
7. You will now have an Account Summary, click the Create button when you’re ready.
8. Configuration completed.
